My Mom Is A Survivor

My Mom is a survivor,
or so I've heard it said.
But I can hear her crying at night
when all others are in bed.

I watch her lay awake at night
and go to hold her hand.
She doesn't know I'm with her
to help her understand.

But like the sands on the beach
that never wash away...
I watch over my surviving mom,
who thinks of me each day.

She wears a smile for others...
a smile of disguise!
But through Heaven's door I see
tears flowing from her eyes.

My mom tries to cope with death
to keep my memory alive.
But anyone who knows her knows
it is her way to survive.

As I watch over my surviving mom
through Heaven's open door...
I try to tell her that angels
protect me forevermore.

I know that doesn't help her...
or ease the burden she bears.
So if you get a chance, go visit her...
and show her that you care.

For no matter what she says...
no matter what she feels.
My surviving mom has a broken heart
that time won't ever heal.

Dear Mommy

When you wonder the meaning of life and love
Know that I am with you.

Close your eyes and feel me kissing you
In the gentle breeze across your cheek.

When you begin to doubt
that you shall ever see me again,
Quiet your mind and hear me.
I am in the whisper of the heavens
Speaking of your love.

When you lose your identity,
When you question who you are,
and where you are going,
Open your heart and see me.

I am the twinkle in the stars
smiling down upon you,
Lighting the path for your journey.

When you awaken each morning
not remembering your dreams,
But feeling content and serene
Know that I am with you
Filling your nights with thoughts of me.

When you linger in the remnant pain,
Wholeness seeming so unfamiliar,
Think of me.

Know that I am with you
Touching you through shared tears
of a gentle friend
Easing the pain .

As the sunrise illuminates the desert sky
In that breathtaking brilliance,
awaken your spirit.

Think of our time together,
all too brief, but ever brilliant.

When you are certain of us together,
When you are certain of your destiny,
Know that God created that moment
in time, just for us.

I am with you always.

My Angel In The Sky

My angel in the sky,
who comes to me in dreams at night.
You left me without a single word,
but when I close my eyes,
your voice is heard.
Telling me you'll be alright,
that you're not scared,
you're in the light.

And now whenever I need you near,
I close my eyes and you appear.
He's my angel in the sky,
who comes to me in dreams at night.
To let me know that he's alright,
he's with God,
he's in the light.

Precious Child Remembered

We know that you are hurting
We know just how you feel.
The pain deep inside your heart
You feel it can't be real.

We know what's going through your mind,
Thoughts that cloud it through the day.
We're on the road you're traveling now.
It can be handled, there's a way.

Don't fight the tears you're feeling,
You must just let them flow.
Speak of your child daily
To many people that you know.

Find others who can understand
They'll hold you as you cry.
The questions, we have all asked,
All the how's and every why.

We will always think of our child,
No one will have to say a word.
They will remain in our hearts
Our precious child remembered.

A Message from Heaven

Hush now precious, please don't cry
There comes a time when we all die
Just take heed now that I'm at peace
And from my pain I have release.

I will always be watching over you
Our love will always be held true
Don't you weep now, don't you mourn
For my heart will then be torn.

Just remember the good times we shared
Knowing that we always cared
I've not gone away, we'll never part
As I will always be in your heart.

In The Light

A shadow of joy flickered; it is me.
I told you I wouldn't leave.
My spirit is with you.
My memories, my thoughts are
imbedded deep in your heart.
I still love you.

Do not for one moment think
that you have been abandoned.
I am in the Light.

In the corner,
in the hall,
the car,
the yard --
these are the places I stay with you.

My spirit rises every time you pray for me,
but my energy comes closer to you.
Love does not diminish,
it grows stronger.

I am the feather that finds you in the yard,
the dimmed light that grows brighter
in your mind,

I place our memories for you to see.
We lived in our special way,
a way that now has its focus changed.

I still crave your understanding and
long for the many words of prayer
and good fortune for my soul.
I am in the Light.

As you struggle to adjust without me,
I watch silently.
Sometimes I summon up all the strength
of my new world
to make you notice me.
Impressed by your grief,
I try to impress my love
deeper into your consciousness.

As you should,
I call out to the Heavens for help.
You should know that the fountain of youth
does exist.

My soul is now healthy.
Your love sends me new found energy.
I am adjusting to this new world.
I am with you and I am in the Light.

Please don't feel bad that you can't see me.
I am with you wherever you go.
I protect you,
just as you protected me so many times.

Talk to me and somehow I will
find a way to answer you.
Mother, father, son or daughter
it makes no difference.
Brother, sister, lover,
husband or wife, it makes no difference.

Whatever our connection-friend or even foe-
I see you with my new eyes.
I am learning to help wherever you are,
where ever I am needed.
This can be done because I am in the Light.

When you feel despair, reach out to me.
I will come.

Our love for you truly does
transcend from Heaven to Earth.
Finish your life with the enthusiasm and zest
that you had when we were together
in the physical sense.
You owe this to me, but more importantly,
you owe it to yourself.

Life continues for both of us.
I am with you because I love you
and I am in the Light.

Don't Mourn For Me

Mother, please don't mourn for me;
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side
each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free,
but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight--
I'm the brightest star
on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach--
I'm the warm moist sand
when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves
when fall comes around,
And the pure white snow
that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers
of which you're so fond--
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom
you'll see in the spring;
The first warm raindrop
that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light
when the sun starts to shine,
And you'll see
that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking
there's no one to love you,
You can talk to me
through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer
through the leaves on the trees,
And you'll feel my presence
in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears
that flow when you weep
And the beautiful dreams
that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on baby's face.
Just look for me, Mommy,
I'm everyplace !

Gods Promise

God did not promise sun without rain,
light without darkness,
or joy without pain.

He only promised us strength for the day
when the darkness comes
and we lose our way.

For only through sorrow
do we grow more aware
that God is our refuge
in times of despair.

For when we are happy
and life's bright and fair,
we often forget
to kneel down in prayer.

But God seems much closer
and needed much more
when trouble and sorrow
stand outside our door.

For then we seek shelter
in His wondrous love
and we ask Him to send us
help from above.

And that is the reason
we know it is true
that bright, shining hours
and dark, sad ones, too,
Are part of the plan
God made for each one,
and all we can pray is, "Thy will be done!"

Gentle Wisdom

Gentle Wisdom comes from learning.
Oh we learn more each day.
When people ask how we cope with our loss,
our wisdom echoes in what we say.

It wasn't very long ago when
I heard one woman say to another.
"How do you cope with such a tragic loss"?
Tears then stained the cheeks of the mother.

At first she didn't answer the woman.
For she stood there and cried.
"Oh I know this is killing you," the woman said,
"but in time the pain will subside."

The mother didn't respond to the question.
She wanted to scream out in grief.
Time could never heal her broken heart.
Time can never give her relief.

Yes, we learn from the wisdom of others;
In time the pain will surely heal.
But to this day the pain hasn't gone away.
So how can anyone know how she feels?

Once a mother heard the words;
"Your child is in a better place."
Is this wisdom to make her feel better?
Will it wipe the tears from her face?

Words of wisdom shared from others
make a mother ask the reason why?
When someone tells a heartbroken mother...
"Oh your child wouldn't want you to cry."

Then, there's the mother who lost her baby
before the child took it's first breath.
There is a void in the heart of any mother
when her child's eye's close in death.

And, when someone foolishly tells her,
"Oh it's much better this way."
That mother's heart is broken all over again.
By the words of "wisdom" that others say.

How many times must that mother
feel death's excruciating pain?
Words to ease her misery & heartaches
should be words easy to explain.

Yes, a mother who feel the empty arms
has a heavy burden to bear.
But what she learns through her tears...
Gentle Wisdom allows her to share.
